Mangaluru: Two-wheeler rider killed in lorry collision at Panambur

Mangaluru, Feb 27, 2026: A two-wheeler rider died on the spot after being hit by a lorry in front of the Indian Oil petrol pump at Panambur on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Shivadas Ganapati Naik, originally from Ankola taluk in Uttara Kannada district and currently residing in a rented house at Bijai in Mangaluru, police said.


Accident at Panambur

Shivadas was working at a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Baikampady. The accident occurred while he was returning home to Bijai after work, when a lorry allegedly rammed into his bike from behind. Due to the impact, he was trapped under the rear wheels of the lorry and died on the spot, police added.

Mangaluru North Traffic Police Inspector Shivakumar M. and his team visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Further legal action has been initiated.
