Mangaluru: Six interstate cyber fraudsters arrested

Mangaluru, Feb 28, 2026: In a case where a friend’s bank account was obtained and used for cyber fraud, the Mangaluru Cyber Crime Police have arrested six individuals.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sheikh Karimulla alias Rasool (27) and Utpala Santosh Krishna (35) from Nellore, Andhra Pradesh; Budidinne Vamshi alias Guru (21) from Kurnool; Panditi Kranthi Kumar (36) and Bude Srinivas (38) from Telangana; and Ibrahim (35) from Mulki.

Cyber fraud


Police have seized 18 mobile phones, one laptop, 12 SIM cards, 15 cheque books, 12 bank passbooks, and 18 debit cards that were allegedly used in the crime.

During the investigation, it was found that the accused posted attractive advertisements on social media platforms, collected complete bank account details from victims, obtained OTPs (One-Time Passwords), and forwarded them to cyber fraudsters operating from abroad.

Technical evidence gathered and analyzed in the case revealed that a cyber fraud network was operating from Hyderabad. The cyber crime police team traveled to Hyderabad, traced the fraud network, and detained five accused in Hyderabad and one in Mangaluru. All the accused are being produced before the court.
