Mangaluru, Apr 8, 2026: In a major anti-corruption operation, the Lokayukta police conducted raids on Assistant Drug Controller B.N. Babu, who serves as the Regional Deputy Drug Controller in the Mangaluru division.
The coordinated raids were carried out at multiple locations across Mangaluru and Chikkaballapur districts. The operation was led by Lokayukta SP Dinesh Kumar and involved a team of six Lokayukta police officers.
Searches were conducted at residential houses and commercial establishments in Bagepalli town of Chikkaballapur district, as well as at a flat and residence in Bengaluru city. In Mangaluru, officials raided the officer’s residence along with his office premises.
During the raids, authorities reportedly uncovered movable and immovable assets worth ₹3,37,04,000. At the Bengaluru residence alone, cash amounting to ₹23,64,000 was seized, along with valuable gold and silver jewellery.
Further investigation is underway.
