Mangaluru, June 12, 2023: On Sunday, June 11, Dinesh Gundu Rao, the district in-charge minister of Dakshina Kannada, inaugurated the Shakthi scheme’s free bus for women, introduced by the Congress government, at Mangaluru KSRTC bus stand. During the official launch in Dakshina Kannada, Rao emphasized the significance of this historic moment, marking his first visit to the area. He expressed that the Congress party has successfully fulfilled its promises to the public, regardless of caste, religion, or language. The decision to implement all the pledged programs was made during the initial cabinet meeting of the Congress government, with the aim of promoting the welfare and empowerment of women.
Rao indirectly addressed the criticism received by the BJP when these guarantees were announced, stating that their commitment and dedication to implementing these assurances have been proven. He acknowledged that providing assurances and delivering them in a timely manner is not a trivial decision, but rather a monumental one in the history of the state government.
Furthermore, Rao assured that all the guarantees would be implemented by August 15. Taking a swipe at MLA Vedhavyas Kamath for his absence from the event, he stressed the importance of involving both the people and the region’s representatives in any developmental endeavors. He also mentioned that those who make mistakes will be held accountable under the law.
During the event, Dinesh Gundu Rao received felicitations from the district administration. The keynote address was delivered by Rajesh Shetty, the senior divisional controller, while H R Kamal Kumar warmly welcomed the attendees.
