Mangaluru, Aug 28, 2026: A woman from Kodial has lodged a complaint with the Mangaluru Women’s Police Station, alleging that her husband and his family members subjected her to mental and physical harassment.
Based on the complaint filed by Sridevi Raghavendra Acharya Samruddhi, police have registered a case against her husband Raghavendra Acharya, a resident of Car Street, Mangaluru; his father Narasimha Acharya; mother Gayatri Acharya; and sisters Vaishali Acharya, Kshama Acharya and Aishwarya Acharya.
According to the complaint, Sridevi and Raghavendra got married on December 22, 2024. She alleged that after moving to her husband’s house, she was subjected to harassment by her husband and his family members.
She further alleged that her husband was involved in an extramarital relationship and that her in-laws forced her to change her name to Sridevi Raghavendra Acharya. She also alleged that she was assaulted during her pregnancy and that after childbirth, neither she nor her child was properly cared for.
Sridevi alleged that her mother-in-law, father-in-law and sisters-in-law also insulted and mentally harassed her.
Based on her complaint, the Mangaluru Women’s Police Station has registered a case against the six accused. Further investigation is underway.
