Mangaluru, Jan 15, 2026: In connection with the case involving the physical and mental assault of a migrant worker after falsely accusing him of being a Bangladeshi national, Kavoor police arrested another accused on Wednesday.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohan (37), a resident of Kuloor. Earlier, the police had arrested Ratheesh Das (32), Dhanush (24), and Sagar (24), all residents of Kuloor. With Mohan’s arrest, all four accused in the case have now been taken into custody.
The incident took place on the evening of January 11, when Diljan Ansari, a native of Jharkhand who has been working as a mason in the city and nearby areas for the past 15 years, was returning home after work. After getting down from a bus in Kuloor, the accused allegedly abused him, falsely labelled him a Bangladeshi national, and subjected him to harassment and assault. A case was registered at the Kavoor Police Station following the incident.
After conducting an investigation, police successfully arrested three accused on Tuesday and the fourth accused on Wednesday.
