Mangalore: Tibetan students take out Solidarity Rally

Mangalore, Mar 10, 2013: Tibetan students and youth residing in and around Mangalore took out a peaceful solidarity rally in the city on March 10, Sunday under the aegis of the Tibetan Youth Congress on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day.
The rally was also organised to demand freeing of Tibet from Chinese repression. The rallyists who were dressed in Black and were holding Tibetan flags, reached Nehru Maidan from Bejai.
Sherab from Tibetan Youth Congress, who was the organizer of the rally, said Tibetans living in Tibet were deprived of their rights and were being tortured. He also stated that the day was being observed to commemorate those who laid down their lives for the cause of Tibet. He also said Tibetans wished that the Dalai Lama returned to Tibet.
A public meeting was also held at Nehru Maidan wherein a few local students too joined the Tibetan youth.
