Mangalore, Sep 30, 2013 : Shantanu Sinha, an IPS officer of 2009 batch took charge as the new Superintendent of Police of Dakshina Kannada on September 30, Monday. He replaces Abhishek Goyal who has been transferred to Bangalore as Lokayukta SP.


For Shantanu Sinha this is his first posting in Dakshina Kannada. Speaking after taking charge, Sinha said that he would accord top most priority to maintenance of law and order and to reduce the crime rate. He also assured to put in efforts to get more police stations and police personnel for the district.
Sinha who hails from Delhi, is an engineer by qualification and has served the IT industry for four and a half years before joining the police service. He has served as joint Lokayukta SP of Belgaum, Bagalkot and Bijapur.
He has also served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) in Mysore and Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police in Channapatna subdivision of Ramanagaram district.
