Mangaluru, October 11, 2026: Navaratri celebrations began with religious fervour at temples across Mangaluru and its outskirts on Sunday, including the Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, renowned for Mangaluru Dasara and the historic Sri Mangaladevi Temple.
At the Kudroli temple, the festivities commenced with religious and Vedic rituals, including Ganapathi Puja, Punyahavachana, Kalasha Pratishtapana, Kopparige Muhurtha and Devi Parayana.




The installation of Goddess Sharada, Lord Ganapathi and the Navadurgas was performed in the presence of former Union Minister B. Janardhana Poojary, who played a key role in the temple’s development.
Mangaluru Deputy Commissioner Darshan H. V. attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Temple president Jairaj H. Somasundaram, treasurer Padmaraj Poojary and other prominent members were also present.
