New Delhi, Oct 11, 2026: A Delhi court has released three members of the satirical political group Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who were detained for mobilising young protesters against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The trio were taken off a flight after it landed in Delhi on Saturday and had been in preventive detention since Saturday morning. They were released by an executive magistrate’s court in Delhi Cantonment on Sunday.

The detentions came amid protests over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. More than 3,000 protesters, including politicians and YouTube activist Dhruv Rathee, were detained on Saturday and released later.
Police imposed extensive security measures across the national capital to prevent large gatherings at Jantar Mantar, forcing protesters to assemble in smaller groups at different locations.
The CJP has vowed to continue its protests until accountability is established over alleged deletion and manipulation of 13 crore votes, accusing authorities of curbing the public’s right to peaceful assembly.
