Mangalore, Feb 9, 2014: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) organised the 11th annual Shri Shri Krishan Balarama Ratha Yatra in city on Feb 8 Saturday.
The procession commenced at City Centre, and the entire ritual was presided over by H.G. Madhu Pandit Das, the president of ISKCON in Bangalore and the chairman of the Akshaya Patra Foundation.
H.G.Satya Gaura Chandra Das, Temple President of Hyderabad, H.G. Stoka Krishna Das, Governing Body Member, Ratha Yatradas from California, Aprakrita Das from Canada, Thatv Darshan Das, from Russia, H.G.Rajeeva Lochan Das, Temple President, ISKCON, Hubli and Mr.Nishanth Shet, Navaratna Group were participated in the ratha yatra.
H.G. Madhu Pandit Das narrated about the Ratha Yathra and its importance which was given by His Divine Grace Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada brought down from the disciplic succession from Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
H.G. Tatvadarshan Das, H.G. Aprakratha Das, H.G. Ratha Yatra Das spoke about the glories of the people of India and especially Karnataka and hoped that Karnataka State will be the first Krishna conscious state.
The 40 ft ratha moved majestically and the golden coloured idol of Krishna was bedecked with flowers. The traditional dresses of the devotees was another attraction of the yatra. The devotees chanted bhajans accompanied with various types of musical instruments.
