Mangalore: DK District Administration observes World Tourism Day-2013

Mangalore, Sep 27, 2013: Department of Tourism in association with Dakshina Kannada District Administration, University College, KSTDC, Jungle Lodges and Resorts observed the World Tourism Day -2013 at Ravindra Kala Bhavan of University College on Sep 27, Friday.

Speaking after inaugurating the event, DC N Prakash said that DK is actively working for the development of Tourism destination. There are more opportunities for the tourism development in DK.

 

He also said that Minister for Tourism R.V. Deshpande has assured to give importance to the development of Coastal districts including Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. 

At present Goa and Kerala is first in tourism, further DK and Udupi will also be developed with the government fund, he said.

University College principal Ammal Kutty presided over the event.

U Jithendranath, assistant director of Tourism department welcomed the guests and gathering.

Udayavani bureau chief Manohar Prasad, Panambur beach tourism development project CEO Yatish Baikampady, University College Tourism department head Dasharath P Angady, Nirmala Travels director Nirmala C Kamath, Tourism Department officer Chikkamatur and KCCI member Vatika Kamath were present on the dais.
