Mangaluru, Aug 3, 2025: In a significant initiative aimed at fostering collaboration between academia and the real estate industry, Mangaluru-based Land Trades Builders & Developers hosted a seminar titled “Beyond Blueprint” on Saturday at its Milestone 25 premises in Balmatta.
Held under the theme “Designing Futures, Building Realities”, the event served as a platform for architects, civil engineers, educators, and students to engage in meaningful dialogue on contemporary design and infrastructure practices. The seminar was organised in association with the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Mangaluru-Manipal Chapter, and the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Mangaluru Centre.
Over 70 delegates participated, including students from leading institutions such as Nitte Engineering College, Nitte Institute of Architecture, P.A. College of Engineering, Srinivas School of Architecture, A J Institute of Engineering, Sahyadri College of Engineering, and St Joseph Engineering College.
In his welcome address, K Shrinath Hebbar, Managing Director of Land Trades, emphasized the company’s commitment to nurturing future professionals. “True progress lies in building people, not just structures,” he said.
The seminar was inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Chief guest Ar. Kumar Chandra, National Executive Committee member of the IIA, lauded Land Trades for its socially driven initiative, while Eng. Kalbhavi Rajendra Rao, National Secretary General of ACCE(I), stressed the importance of practical field experience in engineering.
Other dignitaries who addressed the gathering included Ar. Suprith Alva, chairman of IIA Mangaluru-Manipal Chapter, and Eng. Ujwal D’Souza, chairman of ACCE(I) Mangaluru Centre.

A panel discussion on “Shaping Cities, Shaping Careers”, moderated by Ar. Shama Vazid, brought together thought leaders to discuss urban development challenges, educational reforms, and the growing role of private developers. The need for CRZ revisions, mentorship, and Smart City opportunities also came to the fore.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, followed by a vote of thanks by Ar. Shama Vazid. Speakers and panellists were honoured with mementos for their contributions.
With over three decades in real estate, Land Trades reaffirmed its commitment to knowledge-sharing and professional growth through this impactful outreach event.
