Konaje, Apr 6, 2026: A 23-year-old Youth who had sustained serius injuries after a lorry rammed into his motorcycle near Kambalapadavu in the Konaje police station limits has succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Sushanth (23), son of Baby, a resident of Ambedkar Colony in Nadupadavu.


Youth dies in bike-lorry collision

The accident occurred last Thursday when a lorry collided with his bike near Kambalapadavu. Due to the impact, Sushanth was thrown onto the road and suffered severe head injuries. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Deralakatte, but despite treatment, he passed away on Sunday.

The lorry driver reportedly fled the scene without stopping after the collision, sparking outrage among local residents. Police later traced and seized the vehicle.

Sushanth had lost his father several years ago and was the sole breadwinner of his poor family. He had married about one and a half years ago and is survived by his wife and a young child. Grief has engulfed the family following his untimely death.
