Mangalore, March 4, 2013 : The Kittall Yuva Puroskar-2012 was conferred on talented young writer Wilma Bantwal, on the occasion of the third anniversary celebrations of Kittall.com held at Valencia Church Hall on March 2, Saturday.

 

Rohan Monteiro, Managing Director of Property Infratech Ltd, conferred the award on Wilma.  The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a memento.

 

 

 

 

 

In his address, Monteiro assured his wholehearted co-operation for the promotion of Konkani literature. Youngsters must be encouraged to contribute to Konkani literature, he said and commended the efforts made by kittall.com in this direction.

Speaking after receiving the  award, Wilma Bantwal fondly recollected the co-operation extended to her by the society in her writing endeavour.

Editor’s Choice awards were presented to three writers namely Sequeira Suratkal, Wilson Kateel and Dr Denis Castelino on the occasion.

H M Pernal, Editor of Kittall.com who spoke, said the Kittall Yuva Puroskar will be named as Leo Rodrigues Family Kittall Yuva Puroskar as Leo Rodrigues, an NRI entrepreneur and philanthropist will have a reserve fund for the award money and also would partly  bear the expenses of the award ceremony.

Titus Noronha gave a lecture on ‘Culture and Youth.’Basti Vaman Shenoy, Fr Steven Pereira, Fr Denis Castelino, Fr Ronald D’Souza, Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, Leslie Rego and others were present.

Office of the Premier Konkani Literary website , kittall.com,  edited and published by well known writer , critic of Konkani,  H M Pernal was inaugurated by Kavitha Trust President and Director of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd, Melvyn Rodrigues, in the city. Rev Fr Joseph Martis, Rector, St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu  and Rev Fr Stephen Pereira, Editor , Naman Balok Jesu, Konkani monthly, blessed the occasion.
