Superintendent of Police C.B. Ryshyanth stated that the raid was prompted by complaints from local residents regarding illicit sand extraction near the Shantimogaru bridge. "We have determined that the unauthorized extraction and transportation of sand are linked to Mr. Medu and Channappa Gowda," Mr. Ryshyanth remarked, further noting that six cases have been registered against the duo.
