JD(S) protests against state government’s ’misrule’

Mangalore, Oct 23, 2011: Speaking at a protest meeting organized by the JD (S) at Mahatma Gandhi Park near Town Hall, Sadashiva M. B., the district president of the JD (S), complained that the power crisis is the result of bad administration.

 

 

The demonstration was held to protest against power crisis, hike in the price of seeds and fertilizers, corruption within the BJP-led state government, and harassment of farmers. Stating that the government has fooled people by making various empty promises when it came to power, the JD(S) leader said that power crisis is now causing huge loss to industries, adding that the coal scam has made people suffer. 

Further, he said that fertilizer, which was available at Rs. 360 when the BJP came to power, is now priced Rs. 600 – 700. 

Recalling the incident in which the police opened fire on farmers in Haveri as soon as the BJP came to power, he said that this shows that the BJP is the most irresponsible party that ever came to power in the state. 

Vasant Poojary, M. G. Hegde, Aslam, Ramganesh, and other JD(S) leaders were also present.
