Honnavar: Bike rider killed on the spot in KSRTC bus collision

Honnavar, Mar 20, 2026: A bike rider died on the spot in a road accident involving a KSRTC bus near Haladeepur Agrahara in Honnavar taluk on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh Gopalakrishna Vaidya, a resident of Chippihakkal in Navilagona village. He was employed as a cook and was reportedly on his way to Haladeepur for work when the accident occurred.

According to preliminary reports, the impact of the collision threw him onto the road. He is believed to have suffered severe head injuries, and excessive bleeding resulted in his death at the scene.

Police stated that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Honnavar police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. The body has been shifted to the taluk hospital mortuary. A case has been registered at the Honnavar Police Station.
