Mangaluru, January 26, 2026: The “Mangaluru Rathotsava” (Kodiyaala Theru) at the Shri Venkataramana Temple on the city’s Car Street was celebrated with grandeur on Sunday, attended by thousands of devotees.
The Rathotsava rituals began early in the morning with a grand Mahapraarthane. The deity, along with the family deity Shri Veer Venkatesha, was offered Panchamruta Abhisheka, Shatakaalasha Abhisheka, and Pulaka Abhisheka by Shri Samyamindrateertha Swamiji of Shri Kashi Math.

After the Maha Yajna and Maha Purnahuti at the Yajnamantapa, the deity was taken out in a golden palanquin for the procession, and later mounted the magnificent Brahmaratha.
Devotees from the Parvuru region of the GSB community participated with devotion. Amidst their heartfelt bhajans, salutations, and prayers, the deity undertook the Ratharohana, the puja was performed, and prasada was distributed. Later, the devotees, filled with devotional fervor, pulled the Brahmaratha chanting “Govinda… Govinda…”, completing the celebration with spiritual joy.
