Fishing boat from Malpe capsizes off Ratnagiri coast; 7 fishermen rescued

Mangaluru, Feb 22, 2024: A deep sea fishing boat which had ventured into fishing from Malpe Port capsized  off the Ratnagiri coast in Maharashtra. Luckily, all seven fishermen on board the boat were rescued.

The boat named Ananthakrishna, owned by Prakash Devadiga  had hit some object in the sea, resulting in its capsize.

Crew of two other boats which were nearby immediately rushed to the rescue of the fishermen in the ill-fated boat which eventually sank. The loss has been estimated at Rs 60 lakhs.
