Elderly Woman Killed in Motorcycle Accident Near Vittla Bus Stand

Vittla, Feb 8, 2026: An elderly woman was killed on the spot after being hit by a motorcycle near the Vittla bus stand on Sunday morning, while the rider of the two-wheeler sustained serious injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Seetha Shetty (68), a resident of Maruvala in Vittla Mudnoor village. The injured motorcyclist, a native of Puttur, was critically hurt in the accident and was shifted to a private hospital by local residents.
According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the collision was so severe that the motorcycle was flung nearly 50 metres away. Locals rushed to the spot and transported the injured rider to the hospital on a two-wheeler.
Vittla police visited the scene, conducted an inspection, registered a case, and have launched an investigation into the incident.
