Mangaluru, Feb 18, 2026: Dr. C.A. Raghavendra Rao, founder of the Srinivas Groups and a noted educationist and entrepreneur, passed away at the age of 88.
Dr. C.A. Raghavendra Rao founded the A. Shama Rao Foundation in 1988 and played a pivotal role in developing the Srinivas Group of Colleges into one of the leading educational institutions in the state.

What began as Srinivas College of Hotel Management with just seven students later expanded into several professional and higher education institutions.
In 1980, he had also established a three-star vegetarian hotel named “Srinivas.” In recognition of his contributions to education and social service, he received several awards, including the Karnataka Rajyotsava District Award in 2004.
He is survived by his wife Vijayalakshmi, daughter Padmini, son Srinivas, and four grandchildren.
