The incident occurred at Karangalpady, where the man climbed a large tree and sat there in despair. He was later rescued by Kadri police and admitted to hospital. The individual has been identified as Bhima (24), a native of Bagalkot district.

Bhima had arrived in Mangaluru a few days ago from Bagalkot with a friend in search of employment. However, he failed to find suitable work, and his companion suddenly went missing. Deeply distressed by the situation, Bhima climbed a large peepal tree at Karangalpady and remained there.

Local residents noticed him sitting on the tree for nearly one-and-a-half hours and alerted Kadri police. The police, along with fire and emergency services personnel, rushed to the spot and eventually succeeded in persuading Bhima to come down safely. He was later shifted to Wenlock Hospital for treatment.
