DCC condemns inflammatory speech delivered by RSS leader Prabhakar Bhat

Bantwal, Jan 28, 2012 : MLA B. Ramanatha Rai, the president of the District Congress Committee (DCC), urged the police department to arrest RSS leader Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat who delivered an inflammatory speech at the recently held Hindu Samajotsva in Uppinangady.

Addressing a huge protest meeting held in front of the Taluk Office at BC Road on Jan 27 Friday, Rai criticized DK District-in-charge Minister Krishna Palemar for supporting Mr. Bhat. He also stated that Palemar is unfit to continue as the district-in-charge minister and urged him to resign.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA U. T. Khade said that enlightened people should curb such unpatriotic forces that wreck communal harmony by giving inflammatory speeches.

Bondala Jagannatha Shetty, the former DCC president, expressed his appreciation of the police for registering a case against Mr. Bhat.

M. S. Mohammed, the member of the Zilla Panchayat (ZP); Padmanabha Naringana, the president of the Congress district SC/ST unit; and Shahul Hameed, the former member of the ZP also spoke on the occasion.

Abbas Ali, Prakashchandra Alva, Mayilappa Salian, all Block Congress presidents; Vishwanath Gowda Mani, the president of the taluk youth Congerss; Congress leaders A. C. Bhandary, Sudarshan Jain, Ummer Farooq, Padmashekar Jain, Roshan, Sadashiv Bangera, Abdul Razak Kukkaje, and others were also present.

A mega protest rally was organized from the Kaikamba – Polali welcome arch to the taluk office at B. C. Road.
