DC directs Padoor ISPRL unit to solve local issues immediately

Udupi , Oct 24, 2011 : Dr. M. T. Reju, the DC of Udupi, visited Paadoor unit of ISPRL in Majoor near Kaup on Oct 23 Sunday and urged that the unit must solve the problems faced by the local people at the earliest possible.

 

 

 

Stating that women face problems from labourers outside Karnataka, he said that this issue must be dealt with at the earliest possible.

He also said that alternate roads must be constructed because people are now forced to use longer routes.

Regarding compensation, he said that it should match the market value and that the victim’s family members should also be employed.

ISPRL officer Veerabhadra said that top priority will be given to the resolution of these issues, adding that the fulfillment of basic requirements will be prioritized. He said that the Shirva – Shanthigudde – Majoor road will be repaired by May so that people can use it. Action will also be taken against labourers who harass local women, he added.

The DC visited the unit and expressed his appreciation of it.

In response to a query regarding complaints on unscientific surveys carried out in relation to the Padoor to Thokur pipeline project, Veerabhadra said that another survey will be done soon, adding that it will ensure the retention of as many structures as possible.

Devadas Hebbar, Katapady Shankar Poojary, and Arun Shetty Padoor were also present.
