Couple end lives at apartment; reason unknown

Mangaluru, Oct 10, 2022: A couple ended their lives at an apartment at Maroli where they were residing, on October 10, Monday. The reason behind the extreme step is not known.

 

The deceased are Mallikarjun Basavaraj Koppad (35) and Sowmya Nayak (34). Mallikarjun was a graphic designer while Sowmya worked as a teacher on a temporary basis at KPT.

It its learnt Mallikarjun had first ended his life by hanging to the ceiling fan. Sowmya had informed about this  to her relatives. However, by the time the relatives could arrive, even Sowmya had reportedly hanged herself.

The deceased Mallikarjun hailed from Belagavi while Sowmya was from Bikarnakatta. They had married one and a half years ago. The couple who had been to Madikeri on a holiday two days ago, had returned on Sunday.

Kankanady Police have registered a case.
