The state government said that ration cards cannot be issued without door numbers, adding that if the hakku patras are not given to these people, they will not be able to get ration cards as well as door numbers.

Balakrishna Shetty inaugurated the dharna and said that the committee has submitted a memorandum to various authorities, but none of them has responded to it. He also said that 300 families in Tannirbhavi, who are living in 2-cent and 3-cent plots, are fighting for their hakku patras, but the government is least bothered about their problems.

Accusing the BJP-led state government of behaving like the British who colonized India, he said that the CM wants to rule for two more years, owing to which the poor people have no future.

Comrade Krishnappa Konchady said that the committee will fight for justice and organize protests at various levels.
