According to reports, Arun had entered the deep quarry pit near Garike Matha for a swim on Thursday afternoon. Unaware of the depth of the water, he moved towards the middle of the pit and is believed to have drowned.

The quarry is said to be over 30 feet deep. Upon receiving information about the incident, noted diver Eshwar Malpe and his team rushed to the spot and retrieved the body from the water after a search operation.

Locals have expressed strong anger over the lack of safety measures around such dangerous abandoned quarries. They have urged authorities to take immediate action to prevent such tragedies in the future.
