Kundapura, Feb 16: The newly renovated St Anthony’s pilgrimage centre at Kundapura was inaugurated by Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza on Monday February 15.
Fr Albuquerque, the former parish priest of Basroor parish and serving parish priest of Badyar, who worked for the growth of the pilgrimage center during his term was felicitated on the occasion by the Bishop.
On the occasion, the donor of the land for extension of the pilgrimage centre, the late Joseph M J was also remembered and other donors who contributed financial assistance were also honoured during the programme.
Fr Xavier Pinto welcomed the gathering. Basroor parish council vice-president Rufus Baretto proposed the vote of thanks. Basroor parish council secretary Jacintha Mendonca compered the programme.
Kundapur deanery vicar and Our Lady of Rosary parish priest Fr Alban D’Souza, Badyar parish priest Fr Archibald Albuquerque, Basroor parish council vice-president Rufus Baretto, Basroor parish priest Fr Xavier Pinto, and St Anthony’s pilgrimage center director Fr Philp Neri were the guests of honour.
Over 6,000 devotees participated in the programme.
