Those arrested are Mohammad Shabeer (21), Mohammad Mahruf (22) and Mohammad Mubashir (23).

Last Saturday many students were travelling on the footboard of a bus at Ujire. The bus was on way to Moodigere from Mangaluru.

On seeing the students on the footboard, the bus conductor Shivakumar had asked the students to stand inside the bus or else travel in another bus. This had led to an altercation.   Meanwhile another group had intercepted the bus near Charmady alleging that the conductor had assaulted the students.

The conductor had lodged a complaint following which the arrests have been made.
