Bal Bhavan organizes 4-day national event Bal Bharat Srujanotsav 2012

Mangalore, Jan 23, 2012 : The Bal Bharat Srujanotsav 2012, a 4-day national event, was jointly organized by the Bal Bhavan Society and the DK district administration at Pilikula Nisargadhama in Moodushedde, from Jan 22.

C. C. Patil, the woman and child welfare minister, inaugurated the event, and in his inaugural address, he said that children should not only focus on academics, but also in extra curricular activities.

Stating that this event will expose kids to a wide range of cultures, he said that it will not only highlight their talents, but will also build confidence within them.

Roopika, the movie star, who was the special guest of the event, said that she had participated in a number of Bal Bhavan programs. She suggested that the organizers of this event should not set age limits for participation and urged students to grab the opportunities presented by Bal Bhavan.

Over 800 children from 17 states participated in the procession, which covered 2kms.


District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar presided. Among the dignitaries present were Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Deputy Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly N. Yogish Bhat, Bal Bhavan Chairperson Sulochana G. K. Bhat, and ZP President K. T. Shailaja Bhat.
