Kadaba, Oct 3, 2026: Gold jewellery weighing around 75 grams and valued at approximately Rs 6 lakh was stolen from a house at Addahole in Shiradi village of Kadaba taluk on Thursday night.
The theft reportedly took place after unidentified persons broke open the lock of the rear door and entered the house before fleeing with the jewellery.
Shalini, wife of late Thomas K.S. and a resident of Kakkuttil House in Addahole, lodged a complaint with the police. According to her complaint, the stolen jewellery included three gold bangles weighing 25 grams, a six-gram gold bracelet, a 20-gram gold necklace and a 24-gram gold chain, totalling around 75 grams.
Shalini, who was the only person residing in the house, had left at around 6 pm on Thursday to attend a church feast. She returned at around 10 pm and found that the house had been burgled.
Based on her complaint, Uppinangady police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
