Mangalore Today News Network

New Delhi, Oct 3, 2026: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said alleged narco-trafficking kingpin Navpreet Singh has been deported from Turkiye and brought back to India.

Calling the development a “historic milestone”, Shah said Singh had obtained Turkish citizenship using the fake identity of Navab Virk and allegedly continued smuggling heroin and methamphetamine from Afghanistan to India.

“Our agencies tracked him down, ripping apart veil after veil to unmask his true identity, and secured his deportation. Today he has been brought back to India and put behind bars in connection with cases involving drug trafficking and other crimes he is accused of,” Shah said in a post on X.

He congratulated the agencies involved in the operation and said the Modi government was committed to dismantling every narco-cartel by December 2029.
