Mangalore, February 4, 2012: Delivering the inaugural address after inaugurating the election preparation meeting held by the Mangalore unit of the BJP at AB Shetty Hall in Bunts Hostel on Feb 4 Saturday, District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar urged BJP workers to work hard and take the party forward.
Further, he said that the BJP government has built more schools and colleges than any other state government so far and that the party has always focused on education. The government has not only provided the basic infrastructure and facilities to several schools, but has also distributed computers in schools.
He also said that the CM has assured that he will sanction funds for 95 aided schools in Karnataka in the upcoming budget session.
D. H. Shankaramurthy, the chairman of the legislative council, said that the state has given a deadline of Nov 5 for people to join the voters’ list.
Stating that Karnataka is the state that allots the highest budget for education in India, he said that the BJP-led state government has given Mangalore two government first grade colleges—the Car Street Women’s College and Balmatta Women’s College.
N. Yogesh Bhat, the deputy speaker; MP Nalin Kumar Kateel; Padmanabha Kottari; Sulochana Bhat; and MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik were also present.
