lal krishna advani oct 7Mangalore, Oct 7: The national-level anti-corruption Ratha Yatra undertaken by Lal Krishna Advani, the former deputy PM of India and BJP leader, will pass through Udupi, DK, and Uttara Kannada, but won’t touch Bangalore although Advani is scheduled to fly to Bangalore to participate in a public meeting. The Ratha Yatra will be in Karnataka for 2 days. 


The Yatra will complete its visit to Kerala on Oct 30, with Advani being scheduled to address public gatherings in Kochi and Trissur before flying to Bangalore on Oct 30 to participate in a public meeting. 


Meanwhile, Advani’s Ratha Yatra will proceed to Mangalore. Advani himself will arrive at Mangalore on the morning of Oct 31 and will address a public gathering. He will address another gathering in Udupi on the same afternoon. He will proceed to Uttara Kannada in the evening and will spend the night there. He is scheduled to address two gatherings in Uttara Kannadas, but the venues have not yet been arranged. After its visit to Karnataka, the Ratha Yatra will proceed to Goa. 


Rallies, meetings, and other events will be held to coincide with Advani’s visit to Mangalore. The BJP is going the extra mile to ensure that the Ratha Yatra will be successful. 


The chariot has been specially designed by Dilip Chhabria Designs Pvt. Ltd. in Pune by using a luxury Volvo bus. It has all modern facilities such as television, lift, public address system, and other facilities required to hold meetings. There is also a bedroom for Advani and a conference room.
The chariot will be accompanied by 18 vehicles, including security vehicles and an ambulance. It is to travel 6 hours daily, covering 250kms – 300kms at a time. 


The Rath Yatra will be flagged off at Sitab Diara, Bihar, after which it will pass through Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Andaman Nicobar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa, Diu and Daman, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. It is scheduled to conclude at New Delhi. 


In all, it will cover 100 districts over 23 states and 4 union territories in 38 days, covering around 7,600kms.
