Mangaluru, Apr 19, 2026: An absconding accused against whom 35 arrest warrants were pending for failing to appear before court was arrested at Mangaluru International Airport upon his arrival from abroad.

The accused, identified as Abbas G., a resident of Peruvai in Bantwal, was wanted in connection with a case registered at Vittal Police Station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including unlawful assembly, rioting, criminal intimidation, and causing hurt and grievous hurt.


Absconding Accused with 35 Warrants Arrested


Police said Abbas had been evading trial and staying abroad for a prolonged period. Acting on a tip-off regarding his return, immigration officials alerted the police and assisted in tracking his arrival.

A team from Vittal Police Station, including Head Constable Mohan and constable Venkappa, apprehended the accused at the airport. He was later produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
