A six year old boy on the look out of his father since two days

Kozhikode, Jan 05, 2012: A six year old boy named Sumith is on the look out of his father who had gone missing since two days. He and his father Ganesh had gone on pilgrimage to Sabarimala and was on their way back home on January 3, 2012.

It is believed that Ganesh had fallen from the train somewhere between Koilandy and Vadakara railway station. The boy had got down at Vadakara station looking for his father. People and railway employees at Vadakara railway station came forward to help the crying boy and handed over him to the local police. Child helpline workers have taken the boy from police and admitted him in St. Vincent orphanage in Kozhikode.

In the mean time police had found Ganesh unconscious with serious injuries in the railway track close to Vadakara staion. He was admitted to the Medical college Hospital in Kozhikode. Ganesh enquired about his son, Sumith when he became conscious in the hospital leading to connect with the boy. Child helpline workers had brought the boy to the hospital to meet with his father. However, the meeting could not take place as Ganesh’s condition was not satisfactory.

While Sumith waited for the re-union, Ganesh has gone missing from the hospital. The police have been searching for him since Wednesday night.

Some details about Ganesh were taken note of by the hospital staff and police when he became conscious. Aneesh Balan, Mangalore correspondent of Desabhimany Malayalam Daily has made more enquiry and was able to trace them to Mabukkula, Kunthapur in Udupi district. He has informed Kotta Police station about the incident and to rescue the boy and bring him home. Sumith is at St. Vincent rescue home, Kozhikode. While the search for Ganesh is continuing, a request is made to call 0495-2366010 in case any one has any information on Ganesh.
