68th birth anniversary of Balagandharanatha Swamiji celebrated

Mangalore, Jan 29, 2012: The 68th birth anniversary of Balaganghadharanatha Swamiji of Shri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Mutt was celebrated at Abhiman Green Lawns on Jan 28 Saturday. 

CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda, who was present on this occasion, expressed his appreciation of the various contributions of Adhichunchanagiri Maha Samsthana Mutt to society.

Mr. Gowda also said that Adhichunchanagiri Mutt has helped a number of poor people get medical care. He also said that such service on the part of the mutt has reduced burden on the government. 

Speaking on the occasion, K. H. Muniyappa, the union railway minister of state, expressed his opinion that the mutt has been implementing the philosophy of Basavanna by serving people irrespective of caste, creed, community, or religion. 

Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, the convener of the Shri Rama Vidya Kendra, said that religious leaders have motivated several political leaders during India’s struggle for freedom. Expressing his appreciation of the mutt for protecting the Hindu community, he said that the community is proud to have Balagangadharnatha Maha Swamiji, who follows the teachings of Swamy Vivekananda. 

Ashok Kheni, the managing director of NICE, urged the state government to provide a subsidy for pilgrims to Kashi. He also urged the CM to approve a Mangalore to Bangalore road project, which can cut short the journey to 3 hours. 

In his address, Balagangadharnatha Maha Swamiji expressed his appreciation of the CM and said that the CM is working without any discrimination in society. He hoped that the CM will continue his good work for the next three years.
