Udupi: Section 144 to continue in Malpe coast till Dec 20

The prohibitory orders under Section 144(1) have been extended in the Malpe coastal area till December 20. It may be recalled here that ban orders were imposed by the administration late last month following protest by local fishermen over illegal fishing of cuttle fish by fishermen from other states in the Malpe coastal area.
