Mangalore, Nov 27, 2013 : Sri Rama Sene President Pramod Mutalik has urged the government to appoint an Anti-Terror Special Squad in the coastal belt to crack down the terror network which has spread its tentacles in the coastal region.
Speaking to press persons in Mangalore, he said every time there is a blast anywhere, the links of the same spread to Bhatkal, Udupi and Mangalore. The Yasin Bhatkal case and the recent Hawala case resulting in the arrest of Ayesha Banu and her husband reveal this fact, Mutalik said.
On this occasion, Mutalik urged the state government to provide a grant of Rs 5000 to each of the around 10 lakh Shabarimala pilgrims from the state. He also demanded setting up of a Sri Ayyappa Swami Bhavan in the district for the convenience of Shabarimala pilgrims.
Mutalik further urged the government to release prisoners with good conduct on January 26 in accordance with the Gandhian ideals of reformation of prisoners. He also pointed out that not even a single prisoner with good conduct and behavior has been released in the state since 2006 and that the applications in this regard have not been considered on humanitarian grounds.
