Mangaluru: Bike rider killed in head-on collision with private bus near Bajpe

Mangaluru, Jul 28, 2026: A 45-year-old man died on the spot after the motorcycle he was riding collided head-on with a private service bus at Ekkaru in the jurisdiction of Bajpe police station on Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Basheer Kinnigoli (45), a resident of Bajpe. His wife, who was riding pillion, sustained injuries and has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

According to reports, Basheer and his wife were returning to Bajpe on their motorcycle after attending a function at Kolnad in Mulki when the accident occurred near Ekkaru. The motorcycle reportedly collided head-on with a private service bus, resulting in Basheer’s death at the scene.

Bajpe police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
