Udupi, October 23, 2016: Further to the district administration and the police denying permission to hold a cleanliness drive under the title ’Kanaka Nade,’ Yuva Brigade leader Chakravarthi Sulibele said the programme will be held without challenging and conflicting with the law and order.
He told media that the Pejawar seer has consented to hold the ’Kanaka Nade’ in a totally different way. Devotees have already arrived at the temple town from all over Karnataka. It will be a unique occasion. Bhajans, yatra and other religious programmes are held in and around Car Street. "We are devotees and we do have certain amount of freedom to express our devotion. We are not against Dalits. They are also part of Hinduism. But the threat from the so-called China Brigade (Leftists), should be encountered. These people are trying to misguide Dalits and spoil the peace of the land," he claimed.
Sulibele said he is surprised by the DC’s and the police’s letter about denying permission to the programme. The issue was discussed from the last 15 days and the permission was given. The message about denying the permission to the programme was conveyed only on Oct 22, Saturday afternoon. This is a grave injustice. Around 1,000 devotees are taking part in the programme, he added.
