Mysuru, Aug 26, 2025: The death of a 21-year-old woman in a lodge at Bherya town in Mysuru district is shrouded in mystery. She was found dead with her mouth reportedly blown up.
The police have arrested the Siddaraju, 25, the boyfriend of the woman, identified as Darshita, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of death that is reported to have taken place on Saturday (August 25, 2025) night.
The police said Darshita, a native of Gerasanahalli in Hunsur taluk, was married to a person from Kerala. She had checked into the lodge with Siddaraju, who hails from Bettadapura in Periyapatna. The lower jaw of the victim is reported to have been ripped off.
Amid reports of use of an explosive by the accused, Mysuru Superintendent of Police N. Vishnuvardhan clarified that no gelatin stick, detonator, or bomb had been used in the incident.
A team of officials from the Forensic Sciences Laboratory reached the spot and collected samples for investigation.
Though the accused claims that an “explosion” took place due to a mobile charger, the police suspect the accused to have used some “powder” that acted as a “triggering agent” for the “blast”.
The incident is reported to have taken place on first floor of the building, but nobody in the building had heard any loud sound.
