71st National Film Awards: Mohanlal Wins Dadasaheb Phalke Award; SRK, Rani Mukerji honoured.

New Delhi, September 23, 2025: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023 at the 71st National Film Awards on Sept 23, 2025, for his iconic contribution to the film industry. Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Vikrant Massey and others received their National Award honours. The ceremony was held at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, where President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to the winners.
While SRK received his first-ever National Award for his role in the film Jawan, he shared the honour with Vikrant Massey, who also won the Best Actor National Award for his performance in 12th Fail. Among others, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail also received the Best Feature Film Award, while the offbeat comedy, Kathal – A Jackfruit Mystery, was honoured as the Best Hindi Film. Rani Mukerji was also honoured with the Best Actress award for her powerful performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.
This festival is an important event to celebrate the best of Indian cinema in various languages. Artists, directors, and technicians received awards for their outstanding work, further encouraging the development of the world of cinema.
