New Delhi, December 12, 2025: Cracking the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) examination is no small feat. This exhausting journey is marked by sleepless nights, repeated revisions and appearing for multiple mock tests. That’s why when you finally pass the exam, the achievement calls for a well-deserved celebration. Parents usually throw an intimate party or small gathering, inviting relatives and friends for a hearty feast as a symbol of their happiness and pride.
But one father took the joy of his son clearing the NEET to another level. He organised an “item dance" performance for the entire village, sparking widespread online discussions. An old video of the odd celebration has once again surfaced on Instagram.
Internet Reacts To Father’s Odd Celebration
The video captured hundreds of villagers gathered around an open space in a field. A stage was set up in the middle, where a woman was seen exhibiting a dance performance. Some of the spectators recorded the act on their cell phones.
“Ab NEET clear kiya hai to itna to banta hai. (It makes sense, after all, he has cleared NEET). Father is a legend," pointed out a user. “He made sure not to let others clear the NEET by distracting them," joked another. “India is not for beginners," read a sarcastic remark.
“Papa jarur backbencher rahe honge (The father must have been a backbencher)," noted an individual. “The entire village is motivated," commented someone else. One person called the parent, the “father of the century."
Parents Celebrate Son’s Failure
Earlier in May, social media users witnessed a contrasting event when a family in Karnataka celebrated their son’s failure in the Class X state board examinations. Although he scored 32 per cent, the parents did not show any disappointment and instead hosted a party to rejoice. They even brought home a cake with the son’s score written on top as a means to provide moral support and encouragement.
The father, in a conversation with news agency PTI, said, “This number was designed on the cake. As Abhishek cut the cake, we, all family members, fed him and encouraged him to do better next time."
