Puttur: Speeding car hits seven vehicles at Santyar, driver flees

Puttur, Mar 13, 2026: A speeding car rammed into seven vehicles at Santyar on the Mani–Mysuru National Highway on Thursday evening and fled the scene, causing a series of accidents.

The incident damaged six motorcycles and one car. Eyewitnesses said the car sped away towards the Panaje road immediately after the collisions.

Rash driving


Locals suspect that a minor may have been driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. Some witnesses also alleged that the driver could have been under the influence of ganja, citing the reckless manner in which the car was being driven.

Police have launched an investigation and are searching for the vehicle and the driver involved in the hit-and-run.
