Udupi, Mar 12, 2026: A monkey that had been struggling for the past two to three days after a pot got stuck on its head was rescued by locals in Chitrabailu of Pernankila village in Udupi on Thursday.
Local social workers and environmental enthusiasts Naveen Kumar Chitrabail, Sukesh, Harish Ram and Vishwanath noticed the monkey wandering around the area with the pot stuck on its head and struggling to free itself. Acting quickly, they managed to catch the monkey using a rope and brought it to the premises of the Chitrabailu Sri Brahmalingeshwara Temple.
They then poured water on the monkey’s head and carefully removed the pot. As soon as the pot was taken off, the monkey jumped up and ran away, seemingly relieved. The timely effort of the local youths has been widely appreciated.
