Madurai, Nov 26, 2016: Melur Judicial Magistrate Court on Friday has directed Kollywood actor Dhanush to appear before the court in a petition filed by a couple who claimed that they were his parents but he allegedly refused to provide them any maintenance.
Kathiresan (60) and his wife Meenakshi (55), the residents of Malampatti in Melur taluk said Dhanush was one of their three children and that he was born at Government Rajaji Hospital in the city. His real name was Kalaiselvan and he did his schooling up to standard X at R C Higher Secondary School and Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Melur. After that he was admitted for standard XI in a private school in Tiruppathur in Sivaganga district.
But he discontinued his education and went to work in the film industry, in which he joined hands with Kasthuri Raja. Despite various attempts, the couple could not meet the national-award winning actor, said the petitioners.
They further said Kathiresan, who was working as TNSTC conductor, attained superannuation recently. Though there are two other children, they are unable to manage their medical and other expenses. So they asked the court to direct Dhanush to provide them maintenance of Rs 65,000 per month. Hearing the petition on Friday, Judge Selvakumar has summoned the actor on January 12.
