The buggy, costing ₹7 lakh, was procured through the Area Development Fund of MLC Ivan D’Souza. “I am the first MLC to allocate development funds for a buggy in a government hospital. Wenlock is now the first such hospital to have one. If more are required, I am ready to support,” Mr. D’Souza said.

Hospital Superintendent Dr. D.S. Shivaprakash thanked the legislator and said the buggy will primarily be used to shift patients from the surgical block to other wards, and to transport them for CT, MRI, X-ray, and other scans.
