New Delhi, December 25, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attended the Christmas morning service at the Cathedral Church of the Redemption in the national capital, joining a large congregation of Christians from Delhi and across north India.
The service featured prayers, carols and hymns, and included a special prayer for the Prime Minister led by the Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Swarup, Bishop of Delhi.

Sharing his experience on X, Modi said the service reflected the timeless message of love, peace and compassion, and expressed hope that the spirit of Christmas would inspire harmony and goodwill in society.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister extended Christmas greetings to the nation, wishing people peace, compassion and hope, and said the teachings of Jesus Christ strengthen social harmony.
Over the past few years, Modi has regularly participated in programmes associated with the Christian community. In 2023, he attended an Easter programme at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Delhi and hosted a Christmas programme at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. In 2024, he attended a Christmas dinner at the residence of Minister George Kurian and participated in a programme organised by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India. Sources said these engagements reflect his continued outreach to the community.
Meanwhile, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan also greeted people on the occasion of Christmas. In a post on X, he wished citizens joy, hope, love and kindness, and said the message of Christ should inspire the building of stronger, more caring communities and promote lasting peace.
